RACIAL WORDS AND WHY THEY'RE WRONG; QUICK MICRO-POST ON WHY RACE DOESN'T TECHNICALLY EXIST

Take any given individuals family tree and you will find a veritable rainbow coalition of colors in terms of the ethnicity of their ancestors. So, in the end, when describing someone as Black, White, Asian, etc. you are only describing the color of their skin, the phenotype that is expressed in front of your eyes, nothing beyond a surface feature!

TWITTER PEEPS WHINE ABOUT THE LACK OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WHITE PEOPLE, BUT I SAY WHY BOTHER GOING TO COLLEGE IF EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE HANDED TO YOU?

Some people I follow on Twitter have started "ironically retweeting" certain young high school graduates who lament the perceived lack of scholarships to people "who aren't minorities" (aka Whites.) These misguided racists think that the only way any minority could ever receive help with college tuition is simply as a hand-out given to them because of their ethnicity. They could never fathom the idea that said minority may have actually earned their scholarship through getting good grades or GASP! participating in extracurricular activities.

I don't think there are any scholarships out there whose sole criteria is that the applicant be a certain color. I think, at the very least, any racially concerned scholarship would also stipulate that the applicant have high SAT scores, a high GPA, among other things.

A young girl tweeted "going through the list of scholarships my school recommends. not one applies to single, white, middle class, out of high school, females." Ah, the humanity. Just the fact that she thinks being a single, white, middle-class high school graduate should entitle her to some free money is indicative of how lazy she is. She won't even put any effort into looking for qualities she may have that would make her stand out. She's only concerned with the surface. "How can I just fill out a form and get free money? The minorities do it!!"

"How come white people don't get free money for college"
"why cant they make a white people scholarship. eff. white people need money too."

These people have no idea how good they actually have it. It's disgusting. As the user I follow puts it, "i mean think about what it means that even those who benefit from the power imbalance don't know it exists. that's how pathological it is." These kids are blind to their fortunes in life, to the fact that this scholarship issue being their sole "problem" once they graduate is actually a blessing.

To these kids who are about to graduate or have already graduated and are looking at applying for scholarships, be concerned about yourself. Think about what qualities you have that make you stand out. Being a whiny entitled piece of shit isn't going to get you anywhere.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON MOVIES IN 2012

This looks like it could be the biggest year for movies, ever.

The Avengers. Directed by the King of Female-Empowerment, Mr. Joss Whedon. Marvel has been uniting all of it's movie properties into this epic crossover for like 7 years now, and it's finally paying off.

The Amazing Spider-Man. A dark, gritty reboot of an iconic superhero. I hear it was originally called Spider-Man Begins.

Ridley Scott's Prometheus. Some dark sci-fi thriller that apparently takes place in the same universe as Aliens. W00t.

Something called Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. I mean, come on, that sounds fucking rad. Basically the Snakes on a Plane of 2012.

But the movie I'm looking forward to the most is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

My excitement for this movie is definitely tainted by the fact that, as we all know, The Joker won't be returning due to Heath Ledger's untimely passing. I am however looking forward to seeing Tom Hardy as Bane. Hardy is an incredible, charismatic actor. From what I've seen of TDKR, Bane has the same sarcastic, cocky attitude as The Joker, but with the added difficulty of being barely audible because of the mask that he wears.
Christopher Nolan says this was intentional to make the audience have to use their brains in order to understand what's going on, and that as long as "audiences get the gist of what he's saying" then everything should be OK.
To me, this sounds like it could end up being a big problem. I watched the first scene and I could understand maybe 10% of what Bane said. It sucks because, having seen his dialogue transcribed, I know his lines are really good, it's just you can't understand him for the most part. Nolan is still insistent on leaving the voice the way it is...

Why won't Christopher Nolan just change the audio mix?
Because some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

GRUELING WORK HOURS NEARLY LEAD TO BLOG ABANDONMENT; I PROMISE MORE ARTICLES IN THE FUTURE

It's 2012. The world is ending in a matter of months, so what better time to return to sharing my ridiculous thoughts on the world.
In this rough economic climate, any chance for employment one can find is a blessing. Should you be so lucky to find a decent job, you should do whatever you have to do to stay employed. Even if that means working an unthinkable 45 hours a week. I've managed to do this since September of last year, under highly oppressive work conditions, such as free lunch only being provided once a week or having to work alongside a bunch of people who are courteous and helpful.
This nightmare of a work environment has drained me mentally as well as physically, but as I grow and learn to absorb the blows fate sends my way, I shall post more posts.

Ashton and Alec tell us how they really feel

Just chiming in to say that I'm ashamed of Ashton Kutcher and Alec Baldwin for tweeting their support for Joe Paterno and lamenting his termination. It's a pretty gross spectacle to see two super-famous rich actors who each have like a billion followers support a guy who knew of Jerry Sandusky's secret fetish (boning down on little boys as young as 10 years old) and simply didn't do anything for fear of losing his job.

Now, Ashton says he'll have his people review his tweets before he posts them. People don't seem to realize how pathetic this is. You're a grown ass man and you can't trust yourself enough to not say something supportive of a guy who enabled a child molester so now you're having your entourage make sure your tweets are copacetic? All couched in "Oh, I'm so busy, sometimes I tweet opinions without having all the facts." Bullshit, Kutcher. You'd have to be living under a rock not to have heard about the Sandusky scandal and Joe Paterno's involvement. But it's nice to know that Ashton thinks his fans/followers are all dumb enough to believe such crap.

Their opinions are symbolic of the way this country feels towards giving sports figures carte blanche to commit sex crimes.  Like the high school that punished the cheerleader who refused to cheer for the basketball player who raped her.

TRAGEDY AT A HOUSTON DAY-CARE; JESSICA TATA, PERPETRATOR OF THE UNTHINKABLE

Thursday, February 24th 2011.

A 23-year old daycare operator named Jessica Tata--who had committed arson when she was a student at Taylor High School in Katy--leaves 7 toddlers alone in her house so she can make 'quick' run to Target.

The woman then returned to her home 20 minutes later to see smoke billowing from the house.

It's at this point that she most likely remembered the stove-top boiler she left cooking before she left. It might also have occurred to her that leaving 7 kids, not one of them over the age of 3, alone in a house with an oven on was a dumb ass move.

Before the fire department could arrive, the fire had destroyed most of the home. Four of the kids died, three were critically injured. After initially promising to help authorities in the subsequent investigation, she turned on her heels and fled to her home country of Nigeria. Apparently this woman thought that having already killed four kids, a minor faux pas like fleeing the country in the midst of an investigation would be overlooked.

She didn't stay there long, thankfully. She was extradited back to Texas so now she can face her crimes like a man, which she resembles. She is currently facing murder charges, to which she has plead not guilty (seriously), and bail is set at $1,000,000

Hopefully Jessica will be saying "Tata" to freedom for the rest of her life.
